What residential tree services do you offer?

We offer tree pruning, tree felling and removal, emergency tree work, stump grinding and removal, tree and hedge planting, hedge maintenance, and garden and site clearance. Each service has its own page with full detail.

Do I need permission to work on a tree in my garden?

If your tree has a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or sits in a Conservation Area, you will usually need council consent first. We check this at the site visit and can advise on and assist with the application.

Are you qualified and insured?

Yes. Our work is carried out by NPTC and LANTRA certified professionals, we carry full public liability insurance, and we are an Edinburgh Trusted Trader, Achilles accredited and members of the Arboricultural Association at Technician level.

How much do residential tree services cost?

It depends on the size of the tree, access and the work involved. As a guide, tree felling typically ranges from around £500 to £5,000 and stump grinding from around £100 to £500, with emergency callouts quoted individually. We give a free, no-obligation quote after a site visit.

Will you clear up and protect my garden?

Yes. We work cleanly around homes, fences and boundaries, protect your property and your neighbours', and tidy up thoroughly - branches chipped and removed, timber taken away or left if you prefer, and material recycled where possible.

Do you offer emergency callouts for homeowners?

Yes. We provide rapid-response emergency tree work across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas for fallen, split or hazardous trees. Call us and we will make your property safe as quickly as we can.

Which areas do you cover?

We serve Edinburgh, the Lothians (East, Mid and West Lothian), the Scottish Borders and the East Coast of Scotland, including Fife, Falkirk and Stirling, from our base in Edinburgh.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really efficient work - serious prune of tree but still has it's shape so looks good. All communication with all staff is prompt and helpful. The process was well explained. I'd recommend this company.

It was a delight to have Aiden and his team on site. They understood the work needed to clear the site, executed it efficiently and quickly and left the site immaculately clean. A reasonable price for a good job done. Dougal Philip

Team of 3 arrived promptly and took time and care in our garden from start to finish. They did a professional and meticulous job of cutting back our overgrown hedging and trimming a tree. They were very pleasant guys and nothing seemed like too much trouble. They also cleared up really thoroughly at the end of the job.
We had previously checked out that Heartwood have a SEPA waste disposal registration so we can with full confidence highly recommend this company and will use them again in future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Heartwood Team did an excellent and professional job, removing one tree, pruning and shaping another, and reducing a sizeable conifer hedge for me. Both operatives were friendly, keen to help and informative at every stage. They showed great attention to detail and did a great clean-up when the work was completed. A real pleasure to deal with them.
Highly recommended.
